Brief Details: Skill building workshops lead by Alaska's top female Nordic skiers, inspirational talks by Kikkan, healthy snacks, autographed posters and FUN!

WHAT IS FAST & FEMALE?
Calling all girls ages 9-19 interested in cross-country skiing that want a chance to ski with the top female skiers in the country. Kikkan Randall along with the Nordic Ski Association of Anchorage, will be hosting the second annual Fast and Female US FUN-ON-SKIS event at Chugiak High School. This free event will consist of games, technique work, inspirational stories, yoga and poster signings with the US National Women’s Team and other top national skiers.
Fast and Female is a not-for-profit organization started by Olympic Gold Medalist in cross-country skiing Chandra Crawford. The mission of "Empowerment Through Sport" is accomplished through fun-filled all-day events featuring skiing, biathlon, yoga, hip-hop dancing, healthy eating and inspirational presentations.
Fast and Female is about more than a great time on skis; it’s about building confidence and leadership skills in girls and young women while showing them how much they have to gain from an active lifestyle. Success in the short-term means getting more girls hooked on cross-country skiing and biathlon. In the long term, Fast and Female will become a US and Canadian-wide wellness program with benefits for girls and young women across the continent. The young girls who attend Fast and Female events today will lead it in the future.

EVENT TIME SCHEDULE
1:00pm-1:30pm
Event Day registration at the Kincaid Chalet.
1:30 pm
Participants are distributed into groups for the ski session. Group picture.
1:45pm-3:45pm
Fun-on-skis! Test your skills at several different technique stations and ski with group leaders.
3:45pm
Everyone heads inside for healthy snacks and hot chocolate in the day lodge.
4:15pm
Yoga session
Inspirational speeches.|
Ski Trivia and door prizes.
4:45 pm
Poster signing.
5:00pm
Event Finishes.
Clean-up. All volunteer help welcomed & appreciated!

We are actively seeking volunteers for the following activities:
