9th Annual Ski 4 Kids Day
Saturday,
February 28, 2009 at Kincaid

The 2009 Ski 4 Kids Day is dedicated to the memory of Bonny Sosa, a strong advocate and friend to our community and our families.

Our ultimate goal is to help develop an appreciation of winter outdoor sports and to promote fitness for Anchorage area youth! All proceeds benefit the Anchorage Parks and Recreation’s ski outreach program. This program, in existence since 1995, has already served over 4,000 children. This winter we have already reached 626 students at 15 schools. Coaches bring XC ski equipment and expertise to schools for ski lessons. Kids supporting Kids  -   Come share the fun!

Ski 4 Kids would love to hear from your family about their experiences at Ski 4 Kids.  We would especially love any quotes we could share here on our webpage. Email Us Quotes

WHAT IS THE SKI 4 KIDS?

Ski 4 Kids encourages adults and children of all ages to participate in this spring festival of events. Donations to the Ski 4 Kids group will be accepted instead of entry fees. All proceeds will be used to purchase cross country skiing equipment (and boots) for Anchorage area kids.

This equipment will be available for check-out through the outreach program at Parks & Recreation by any group that works with children.

REI will have snowshoes available to check out in the chalet.

Volunteers, Thank You!

To put on an event such as this, it takes numerous volunteers. We are grateful for the help and support from everyone who has contributed, kids and kids at heart. Thank you especially to the students who designed and are running the obstacle course, the Dimond Z Club for helping in the chalet, the South JrROTC cadets for helping in the stadium, the Anchorage Skijoring Club & their canines & to Mrs Ellinwood & the Huffman Elem 2nd graders for the art work.

Sponsors, we couldn't have done it without you!

A special thanks for the NSAA for grooming the trails for the outreach schools! You certainly are appreciated!

This event could not be possible without the generous support of our many sponsors:
