     EVENTS :: Ski 4 Kids :: QUOTES

What others have to say about Ski 4 Kids!

I liked the ski for kids because I went skijoring. I rode a dog named Foxy. It was a wild ride because I accidentally unleashed her and she ran like crazy. I liked the obstacle course too. It was fun to ski in the maze. It is a great idea to have kids design the shirts. I really enjoyed the ski 4 kids. I can’t wait until next year.
Alice, 8 years

I’m a really good skier and I’m a really good kid and I think this is the best program I’ve ever been in my entire life.
Henry, Russian Jack Elem.

Skiing after school was enjoyable because we went on the trail.  Another reason is that we got to go outside and play instead of staying inside the classroom.  We had a chance to try a new activity. I think this program should go on so other people would have the benefit to try something new.
Joshua, Russian Jack Elem.

I think it’s fun because you could go on the hill.  And, you could play a game.  But, sometimes you fall.
Alberto, Russian Jack Elem.

I think skiing was AWESOME because I had a lot of fun even though I kept falling.  There was a magic person, prizes, food and water.  There were some cool hills to go on.  There was a race and cool stuff.  I hope that we can do this again. It would be very fun.
Melody, Russian Jack Elem.

I really had fun skiing because I got to go skiing in places I never have been before.  If you guys hadn’t come, I wouldn’t have been able to go on the high bridge.  Thank you for coming to let us ski.  You are the best, Ms Sophie and Mr. John!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shania, Russian Jack Elem.

Thank you for providing the budget and personnel for the Outreach Ski Program at Russian Jack School. The ski program provides a chance for these kids to learn a skill that could stay with them as a recreational activity for the rests of their lives. It provides a chance for them to learn another way to exercise, and to become aware of how to utilize the outdoors in the winter in a safe, fun way.
Linda Wetherby, Coordinator, Russian Jack 21st Century After-school Program

I can't stress enough how important this event is for getting kids excited about human powered recreation and getting them started on the road to lifelong fitness. I watched and cheered as over 600 kids that otherwise wouldn't have this opportunity gave their all to complete the race and learned valuable lessons in the process. The event was so well organized that it ran like clockwork. I saw hundreds of beaming smiles and heard the laughter and cheering all across Kincaid.
Craig Petersen, Ptarmigan Elem., 21st Century Coordinator

Ski 4 Kids at Kincaid Park on March 11, 2006 was a huge success and a fantastic family event. I started helping with the outreach program at Mountain View Elementary ten years ago when Ski 4 Kids was just an idea.  To see 560 kids with parents taking part in this year’s event was exhilarating!
Julie Garrigus, Jr Nordic coach and Mom

I went to Ski 4 Kids and I saw the big Blue Bear.  I did the ski race and it was fun. I skied faster than my brother.  But, the best part was getting my lunch bag prize.  My brother got one, too.
Stuart, age 5
