Technique & Start Format
A 10k and 30k freestyle ski race. The 30k race is the famous “Tour of Kincaid”. There will also be a 2.5k un-timed fun race for youth (14 and under) around the first half of the Mize Loop.

Each of the races will begin in a mass start from the stadium. In consideration of racer safety, additional waves may be added to limit the number of racers in each wave. All racers should self - seed in the start area, with the elite or faster racers in front of less competitive racers. Please be considerate of your fellow skiers.

Course & Feed Stations
The race starts and finishes in the stadium area.  Maps are available on-line and will be posted at registration.  This race is considered the Tour of Kincaid.  The course has changed significantly from previous years to inject a little variety in the race series and to showcase some of our beautiful trails (and hills).  Let us know what you think!  Keep your head up at intersections so you don’t miss a turn. The 10k course is the first 10k of the 30k course, and finishes when it comes into the stadium.

There will be three feed stations evenly spaced along the 30k course including:

Feed 1 - At the north end of the Stadium (8.1k)
Feed 2 - At the Bridge (15.7k)
Feed 3 - At the Lower Tunnel (22.6k)

Skinny Raven volunteers will be handing out water and sports drink. Say hello to them when you ski on by.

Host
Skinny Raven and the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) are hosting the event.

Post-Race Activities
Lots of post-race activities are planned after the race: food and, prizes!! So plan on sticking around after the race. Awards will be given to the Sven winners and to the top 3 men and women Anchorage Cup point winners (earned from the best 3 events of the Chugiak, Hickok, Pia's, and Sven races). See the NSAA web page for details on points.

Volunteers
The AMH Anchorage Cup ski races would not be possible without help from volunteers like you. All race officials and organizers are unpaid volunteers. To keep citizen racing alive and well, all racers should plan to help during at least one race of the series at registration, course marking or course clean-up. Non-racers can help at timing, bib-pickup and feed stations for longer races. Please ask how you can help during registration and bib-pickup.

If you need more information or if you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Race Chairman, Tim Stone.
