Tom set the Tour Trail skate lanes and new tracks.  He went over the Lake Otis connector, and then groomed the Gasline and the lighted loops.

This morning Matt set tracks on Richter, Ridge and Bogg trail.  There is a light snow falling so there will be plenty of powder for all.

Kincaid Park

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

All the trails in the park were groomed with new tracks set everywhere except Lake and Horseshoe.  John will be working on Lake and Horseshoe today, and try to keep up with the new snow in other sections of the park.  Snow is still falling at Kincaid.

Sisson Loop Warning:

Beginning Tuesday March 9, Fish and Game will be getting back to the clean-up of the unauthorized dump below the bluff at Kincaid.  This means that parts of the Sisson Loop will be disturbed by vehicles.

MOA Trail Status Report

Chugach State Park

Remember these trails are multi-use – walkers, runners, and dogs are welcome there.

Special Notice: Winter bikers can obtain a special use permit to ride on trails normally closed to bicycles (Middle Fork Trail to name one). State Parks will be evaluating their impact on the State Park trail system.  Chugach State Park Director welcomes comments and feedback from NSAA members and skiers regarding winter biking in The Chugach. Please give feed back to Tom Harrison.

If you are skiing in Chugach State Park, remember that the trails are multi-use trails and that dogs are allowed off leash 100 feet from the parking lot.  Be courteous and beware!  Cars need a current State Park sticker or plan to pay the $5 daily Park fee.  Park stickers are for sale at AMH and REI or on the internet at: https://dnr.alaska.gov/parks/Passes.cfm.
