Fast and Female Details:
Calling all girls ages 8-18 interested in cross-country skiing who want a chance to ski with the top female skiers in the country. On Friday, January 9th 2009, from 4:30-7pm, Kikkan Randall will be hosting the first annual US Fast and Female FUN-ON-SKIS event at Kincaid Park. The event will consist of games, technique work, inspirational stories, and poster signings with the US National Women’s Team and other top national skiers.
Fast and Female is the beginning of a revolution. In 2005, riding high on Canadian World Cup fever and Olympic dreams, the women of Canada’s National Cross Country Ski Team were inspired to share their enthusiasm with the next generation Canadian female cross- country skiers. Designed to get more girls skiing, as well as make a difference in the state of fitness among today’s kids, the inaugural event was a tremendous success. Now, four years later we are bringing Fast and Female to the United States!
Come play on your skis, hear stories, have posters signed and get inspired!
