Grant Program

Thank you for your interest in the Alaska Ski for Women (ASFW) Grant Program for nonprofit organizations. This program fulfills the secondary objective of our event, which is to raise money for local nonprofit organizations that develop programs or projects that address issues specifically related to improving women’s lives during time of crisis and support their recovery after crisis. The ASFW Committee sincerely wishes each applicant continued success with your endeavors supporting women and their children in our community throughout the year.

Requirements for Grant Applications

All grant proposals must directly support the following requirements:

A complete Grant Application includes the following:
Applicants must use the template provided. The maximum number of pages for the Grant Application narrative is 5 pages, whereas attachments can add up to 10 additional pages for a maximum of 16 total pages.

1. Grant Cover/Summary page - Use template provided (download)

2. Application (1-5 pages) – Includes a narrative Abstract of 100 words or less, providing a synopsis of the proposed project, and the Proposal. The Proposal format must follow the Rating Sheet in order. Brevity is strongly encouraged when describing key points.

3. Attachments (no more than 10 pages) - Relevant supplemental material such as a resume(s), brochure, sample of previous work, newsletter, newspaper/magazine article(s), etc.

Grant Application Review
The Grant Committee reviews and rates the applications.  The ratings determine whether the Committee makes a recommendation to the NSAA Board to approve the application. Preference is given to projects or programs, rather than contributing to organizational operating expenses or administration.

Grant Applicants may receive a call or visit from a member of the ASFW Grant Program Committee for clarification or to potentially request a revision to the Grant Application prior to the final ASFW Committee and NSAA Board approvals.
