The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage brings you the fourth annual Solstice Tree Tour: A unique Alaskan celebration of Winter Solstice and the return of longer days!
As a northern community, we love that this event encourages all ages and abilities to get outside and celebrate the winter solstice. The event is a tour of the trees along the first 2.5k of the Mize Loop. Local businesses will sponsor trees along the route and can decorate them to create a winter wonderland along one of the most well-loved trails at Kincaid.
For one time only, NSAA will permit people to walk as well as ski on the groomed trails which will increase participant traffic. There will be a bike corral for bikers to leave their bikes and walk the loop. Sponsors will provide hot chocolate, coffee, adult beverages, and s’mores at warming stations along the way. This is a very popular, family friendly event that brings together people of all ages.
With the growing popularity of the Solstice Tree Tour, NSAA is happy to offer FREE shuttle service starting at 4pm from Kincaid Elementary and 6420 Kulis Drive. Parking West of the Raspberry Lot will be for VIP’s and Volunteers, any remaining spots will be first come, first serve.

Bike to the event and park your bike in the Bike Corral, provided by the Trek Store of Anchorage! The Bike Corral will be at the start of the Mize Loop.
Interested in Sponsoring a Tree?
Trees are available for sponsorship & decoration! Businesses can choose their own decorations, including lights, ornaments, and ribbons. Be creative! Businesses also may give out promotional information, coupons, etc at their tree during the event. The cost of sponsoring a tree is $500. After touring the loop, participants will have the opportunity to vote on the best tree.
The winning company will be given ¼ page color ad in the Alaska Nordic Skier publication (valued at $250) and all of the businesses will be featured on a high traffic page of the NSAA website (81k hits a year). We will repost a sign with your business name and picture of your tree during the well-attended Ski For Women in February as well. Invoicing in January 2019 is available.
Additional Sponsorship Opportunities
New this year – Cup Sponsor! 2019’s Cup Sponsor is Banker Law Group! Check out the 2019 Sponsorship Proposal for more details.
If decorating a tree does not sound appealing, there are many other ways to get involved and since this is a large event, we are looking for any suggestions/feedback.
If you would like to be involved or have any questions, please email Sara Miller at email@example.com
